Its undeniable that I'm a tad bit late to the bandwagon.
Practically every diet has already been broken. Gym memberships have been cancelled. Resolutions ending with a simple shrug and a promise to honor it next year. Yet, here I am. 2018. A year with heavy meaning for me, a high school senior. This year is bound to be filled with a plethora of 'last times' and just as many 'first's. My last day of high school is lurking around the corner, just out of sight. And yet, somehow, it's always on the back of my mind. On the other hand, I have my first day of college to look forward to. But I shouldn't get too far ahead of myself. Here are my goals for 2018. 1. Graduate As if it wasn't obvious enough, I do plan on snatching my diploma this year. However, with a serious case of senioritis already settling in, there's a good chance it'll be a struggling to snag those last two credits I need. So graduating is at the top of my to-do list for this year. 2. Lose Weight Would it really be a list of resolutions if this didn't appear somewhere? Probably not. Ive been wanting to lose twenty pounds since I started high school. But I've been putting it off. Odds are that it won't happen this year. Or next year. So until it happens by some stroke of luck, it'll appear here every single year. Oops. 3. Discover New Music Usually I'm the type of person who sticks to the same three artist and handful of albums. This year, though, ive already started branching out. I started listening to some new music and streaming some playlists on Spotify. My name on there is Casey Benish, so be sure to check out my page! I have a bunch of playlists public. It'll give you a taste of how crazy my taste in music is. 4. Be More Outgoing I'm quiet. I'm shy and awkward. It's something I've had to deal with since my middle school days. And I'm tired of it. I want to meet new people and be more open this hesr. I've already made a few new friends this school year, thankfully. But why not meet even more? With college coming soon, I'll surely see some new faces around. 5. Travel Traveling is something I've gotten pretty good at, if I'm honest. I spent two months with my uncle this summer, a shocking twelve hours from my Pennsylvania home. Even though I thought it would terrify the absolute shit out of me, it didn't. I loved the experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Aside from my home state, I've been to Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida now. This year I'm hoping to return to Florida, as well as make my debut in New York and New Orleans, Louisiana. Maybe I'll even get lucky and visit Ohio or return to New Jersey, as well. Only time will tell. Regardless, I hope 2018 will be kind to me and my family. I hope it's kind to yours, too.
